Privacy & cookies
This page covers the FindInvaders website only. The iPhone app is a separate product with its own privacy details on its App Store listing.
Who is responsible
This site is published by Farouk Gnandi, who is the data controller for everything described here. Full publisher details are on the legal notice.
The short version
This site sets no cookies and contacts no third party until you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press Refuse, or ignore the banner, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookie is created.
What the site stores on your device
Two small values in your browser's local storage. They never leave your browser, are not cookies, and are not readable by anyone else:
fi:consent— whether you accepted or refused analytics, with the date of that choice, so you are not asked on every page. It expires after six months and you are asked again.fi:lang-suggest-dismissed— that you closed the "this page exists in French" prompt.
Clearing your browser's site data removes both.
Analytics, only after you accept
If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4, operated by Google Ireland Limited as our processor. It collects:
- the pages you view on this site and how long you stay,
- the site or search engine that sent you here,
- an approximate location (country, sometimes city) derived from your IP address, which is truncated before storage,
- device type, browser and screen size.
We use this to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from. We do not use it for advertising: ad storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are all switched off. We never sell this data or combine it with anything else.
Google processes this on servers that may be outside the European Union. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the adequacy decision the European Commission adopted in July 2023, and relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where the framework does not apply. Google's own explanation is at policies.google.com/privacy. Data is kept for the retention period configured on the Analytics property.
Changing your mind
Select Cookies in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and choose again. Refusing after having accepted also expires the analytics cookies already on your device.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, its correction or erasure, and you can object to processing. Write to farouk@wonkrew.fr. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the CNIL at cnil.fr.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Its servers keep short-lived technical logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. That happens for every visitor and does not depend on the cookie banner.
